Corrosivity is a measure of the waters tendency to corrode household fixtures, plumbing, water heater components, and washing machine parts. A corrosive water will leach metals from copper and galvanized fixtures and could result in high lead, copper and zinc levels in the drinking water, especially in older homes where lead based solder was used. The kit contains a sample bottle, instructions and chain of custody forms for performing pH, Calcium, Alkalinity and Total Dissolved Solids. The results of these analysis are used to compute an index to determine the waters corrosivity.
